So, about three days ago I finally watched 500 Days of Summer. It’s an old movie, considering how many memes been made from it. But still, since I have no clue whatsoever about it, it is still a fresh movie for me.

Until they spoiled it.

They really did, the narrator did it in its voice-over, here I post it for you:

This is a story of boy meets girl. The boy, Tom Hansen of Margate, New Jersey, grew up believing that he’d never truly be happy until the day he met “the one.” This belief stemmed from early exposure to sad British pop music and a total misreading of the movie ‘The Graduate.’ The girl, Summer Finn of Shinnecock, Michigan, did not share this belief. Since the disintegration of her parent’s marriage she’d only loved two things. The first was her long dark hair. The second was how easily she could cut it off and not feel a thing. Tom meets Summer on January 8th. He knows almost immediately she is who he has been searching for. This is a story of boy meets girl, but you should know upfront, this is not a love story.

Huh?

So I immediately knew how this would end. Not a happy ending for sure.

I need about three times until I finally watch it until the end. Not because I don’t like it. It is because I am not ready with the ending. I mean, the movie using a non-linear plot so I already watch some part towards the ending which are very gloomy by the way.

The movie is great. Seriously, it is so good. I like the characters, how they build the relationship. The dialog. The scenery. Almost perfect. Except the ending.

Because it’s not a happy ending. At least for me.

The-Old-Guitarist

This brought me to think about life (wow, I am so deep talking about life so sudden after watching a movie, *sob*). I mean, we all knew how this would end right?

We will die. Someday. Eventually. One way or another.

Die.

Will it be a happy ending? I mean, for sure we can’t feel anything after we die. But, think about it.

That’s when I was reminded again that life is not about the ending. Never about the ending. It’s about the time in between you were born until that D day.

D day means Die day, lol.

What happened during those particular length period of time, what really matters. So, live your life starting from today, be as optimistic as you can, because happiness is not about the ending, it’s all about how you spent this very seconds, minutes, and hours until you sleep at night (or sleep forever). That what makes you happy. Trust me.

So when the time has come, you’re ready to say good bye to this life. And life is ready to let you go, because both of you, has been a good companion since the day one.

Love your life, and life will love you back.

Have a very bright Wednesday, beautiful people.
