If you’re happened to be a badminton fans, you’ll know Gill Clark. And even worse better, you’ll know (and get bored) by her favorite sentences/impression/quote while she’s doing her job commentating a match.

IT’S QUITE UNDERSTANDABLE WHEN BOTH OF THEM ARE FEELING NERVOUS STARTING THE MATCH

IT’S NOT ABOUT THE SPEED OF SHOT. BUT SPEED OF MOVEMENT.

SLICE THE RACKET ACROSS THE FEATHER.

SHE/HE NEEDS TO BE MORE PROACTIVE, RATHER THAN REACTIVE.

And the list goes on…

No, I won’t talk about it actually. What I want to discuss/write here is about the last one: she/he needs to be more proactive, rather than reactive. Usually, she will say such a thing when a certain player just not doing a shot with their own pace, either it be retrieving, defensive shot, blocks, any shot basically. Like I said, if you’re a badminton fans, you’ll understand the term, it is when the match is not in your hand, you’re only reactive towards shot your opponent do.

Sucks.

Because you’ll be always one/two steps behind. If you’re happened to be a good reader of an opponent game, it’s not so bad actually, because one or two occasion you’ll be able to come up with a tricks and deceive your opponent. But if you’re not, then say bye-bye to a finish line.

Being a badminton fans, I also have the same opinion with life itself. You can’t be just reactive. You have to be proactive. Make your own move!

So whenever I read this kind of post in my timeline, or meet those persons, I’ll be like… what??

You’re not some kind of litmus tests, please.

I believe you’re only as good as lowest you can be. So, if you’re capable to be a mean person, then you ARE a mean person. Just don’t give excuse for those kind of behaviors. If you want to be a decent person, then be it, no matter how your environment/person surrounding you treat you.

Remember, being a decent human being is not the same as one who just said YES or tried to satisfied people. It means you stand with a good value of life and you’re consistent with it.

So yeah, treat yourself better today if you’re still a reactive person. Stop blaming others.
